about helping people reclaim their lives despite stressors and other difficult circumstances.
Anna specializes in working with adults who may be struggling with depression and other mood
disorders, anxiety, insomnia, stressors, and other life challenges. Anna is particularly interested
in social connection and relationships, as well as the link between physical health and mental
health. Anna strives to help people develop a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Anna is warm and pragmatic, and she genuinely enjoys working with people. Anna believes that
therapy is an active process, and she draws from a variety of therapeutic interventions. Anna is
trained in cognitive behavioral therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia
and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, as well as attachment-focused therapy Interpersonal
Psychotherapy for Depression. Anna offers Gottman Method Couples Therapy for Couples. Anna uses a skills-based and recovery-oriented model of care.
Treatment and therapeutic interventions are evidence-based, collaborative, and personalized
to each individual client. Faith-based counseling is available upon request.
Anna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social
Work from The University of Iowa. Anna had worked in the VA Health Care System for over 8
years providing individual and group psychotherapy to Veterans and their families in a variety
of treatment settings. Anna hails from the Midwest but now calls coastal North Carolina home.
