About Lauren

Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who specializes in working with pregnant women and new moms. She focuses on the treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) such as postpartum anxiety, depression, rage, pregnancy or postpartum OCD as well as traumatic birth experiences and relationship difficulties. Her desire is that every mother understands the importance of receiving quality help and support that is needed during the early days. She has been trained by Postpartum Support International and volunteers weekly with the Crisis Text Line.

Lauren’s main therapeutic goal is to help moms find their own strength, create new routines, and learn tools that will allow them to be the best (and healthiest) version of themselves. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment that allows moms to feel secure and leave mom guilt behind, especially during sessions. While motherhood is a wonderful experience, it often begins in ways different from what was imagined. Lauren is here to provide support as you navigate through this new journey.

Lauren has the ability to connect easily with others, often being told that she “never meets a stranger”. She utilizes interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, stress reduction, anger management, and processing of anxiety/panic triggers. She believes creating an individualized treatment plan specific to each client is an extremely valuable tool for healing and recovery. Lauren received her BSW from NC State University, and her MSW from the University of New England’s Advanced Standing program. She has been in the social work field serving a variety of populations for 6 years.
