Our Approach
As mothers, we often assume that pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period will be the happiest time of our lives. While there is some truth to this, the amount of anxiety and stress caused by these major hormonal and life changes is often left out of many maternal health discussions. At Arise Counseling & Therapy, we acknowledge that all stages of motherhood, from trying to conceive through the postpartum period, are difficult and can lead to various mental health conditions. These can include “the baby blues”, depression, anxiety, anger, psychosis, OCD, and more. We can help provide support, education, and teach coping skills to help you take control of your motherhood and overcome the difficulties that, while extremely common, are rarely talked about. Working closely with the most current treatment protocols from renown mental health organizations, we will help you begin the healing process.
What to Expect
-
Initial Intake Session, where you and your therapist will learn more about one another and make the decision if this is the best fit, as well as determine the goals you’d like to work on together.
-
Following Sessions, where your chosen goals will be worked on utilizing evidence based techniques combined with your unique needs and your therapist’s personal style.
Each individual is different, which means these sessions are tailored to your individual concerns, goals, and needs. Your therapist will work with you to determine which discussions, strategies, and timeline benefits your counseling or therapy the most.
