Stefanie provides therapy for adolescents 13+ and adults. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, addictions, low self-esteem, eating disorders & body dysmorphic disorder. Her passion is in walking with others on their journey to identifying and loving who they are. She is dually licensed as an addictions specialist and clinical social worker. Her most commonly used therapeutic approaches are cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, incorporating mindfulness and family based therapy when appropriate. Christian based counseling is also available upon request. Stefanie is mindful of cultural & developmental influences on treatment. Treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs, concerns and preferences.

 

Stefanie empowers her clients to gain the tools and skills to create the changes that they desire in their life. Stefanie's goal is to create a safe environment to manifest self-awareness and acceptance, to awaken the motivation for change. Her favorite part of therapy is assisting in finding what sets you free and fires you up about life. She feels called to working with those who feel something missing from their lives, to find a sense of freedom and a love for who they are. 

Stefanie earned a Clinical Master’s of Science in Social Work degree from Columbia University in New York City and  a B.S.W. degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, graduating as valedictorian of her class. Stefanie has worked in the prison setting, led an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment group and in private practice and has been in the field for 6 years.

Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. She focuses on the treatment of anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, stress reduction, anger management, troubled relationships and learning disorders. Her desire is that everyone understands how important his or her story is, no matter how young or how old, and she sees it as a privilege to a part of that story. She has her associate license in clinical social work and is also trained in play therapy.

 

Lauren’s main therapeutic goal is to create an environment for individualized, solution-focused therapy for children in order to help them develop appropriate coping mechanisms and emotional regulation techniques. Lauren values each person’s unique journey and the pathways to establish his or her independence. 

Lauren has the ability to connect easily with others, often being told that she “never meets a stranger”. She utilizes interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, positive psychology, stress reduction, anger management processing and control, and processing of anxiety/ panic triggers. She believes working individually with the client as well as the entire family system are extremely valuable tools for healing and recovery. Lauren is currently seeing clients via teletherapy only.

TAYLOR HELMS MSW, LCSW-A

Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who is excited to walk alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and work towards a healthy and fulfilling life. She specializes in treating anxiety disorders, depression, food and body image issues, relationship issues, unhealthy boundaries, and managing stress, transitions, and challenging life events. Taylor enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, college students and adults, but is open to working with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences.  

 

In session, Taylor’s goal is to empower individuals by bringing awareness to the strengths they already possess, as well as cultivating new skills, to create the change they desire. She utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, strengths-based perspective, and trauma informed therapy. Taylor believes in the importance of treating the whole person and not just the symptom, and utilizes a holistic approach to integrate the mind, body, and spirit in treatment.  

 

Taylor received both her Bachelors of Social Work and Masters of Social Work from UNCW. She is a Wilmington local that has been serving the Cape Fear community in many different settings, including working with children, teens, and families impacted by trauma, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and crisis management. Taylor continues to volunteer in the community as a Guardian ad Litem to advocate for children and teens in foster care to have a safe, loving, and permanent home.

ASHLEY TOTI MSW, LCSW-A

Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who specializes in working with victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, those experiencing stress or anxiety, depression, as well as children and families. Ashley has worked in both the domestic violence and sexual assault field, substance abuse environment, family therapy, and school setting. Ashley works with adolescents, adults, children and families. 

Ashley obtained her BSW at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the Advanced Standing program at UNCW. Ashley completed her MSW in one year.
Ashley’s main therapeutic goal is to provide a healthy and healing space for those to process their trauma, as well as to learn and utilize the healthy and positive coping skills to allow for a life after trauma. Ashley values meeting people where they are, and honoring each individual’s journey to healing.


Ashley practices mainly from a strengths-based approach but also utilizes motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness to provide a well-rounded scope of knowledge.

Ashley’s favorite part of therapy is debunking the myth that people are broken and need fixing by providing the necessary tools and resources that allow a person to share their story without fear of being blamed. Ashley believes that everyone has the power to heal and grow from what has hurt them if they are given the space to be heard.
